Why was I charged again after I already paid recently? (Authorization hold vs Settlement)

If you see two entries on your bank statement for a single transaction, it usually means your bank processed a temporary authorization hold before settling the final charge.

Here is what happened:

  • Authorization: When you first make a payment, your bank puts a temporary hold on the funds to confirm they are available. Nothing leaves your account at this point.
  • Settlement: The temporary hold becomes a completed transaction. This is the single real charge.

We check balances on our side to be certain: you were charged once, not twice. This is simply how banks process and display card settlements.

If your bank statement still shows two separate settled amounts after a few business days, please send a screenshot of the statement to support@nevlin.com, and our team will investigate it for you properly.

If you experience any issues regarding duplicate pending charges, contact us at support@nevlin.com or by submitting a ticket to the Support Center.
